Matthew Mead grew up competing across multiple sports before ultimately focusing on tennis and volleyball through college. He played Division III tennis at Chapman University while also competing in club volleyball, building a high-level athletic foundation rooted in explosiveness, timing, and court IQ.

He discovered pickleball in May of 2020 and wasted no time making his mark — competing at the 4.5 level that same year and transitioning to the pro level in 2022. After balancing competitive pickleball with collegiate tennis coaching, Matthew made the decision in 2024 to commit fully to the sport.

Now coaching at Eagle Glen Pickleball Club in Corona, California, Matthew competes year-round on the PPA and APP tours, continuing to refine his game against top-tier talent.

He’s ready to bring that competitive edge to LA Heat in its inaugural season.
