Oscar began competing in tournament pickleball in 2022, bringing with him a lifelong competitive drive shaped by years of soccer, basketball, and high-level paintball. Always drawn to competition, pickleball quickly became the outlet that matched his intensity — and he hasn’t looked back.
Without a traditional racquet-sport background, Oscar learned the game from his father-in-law, firefighter Tony Gamboa, developing his skills from the ground up through work ethic and repetition.
Raised playing sports in El Segundo, Oscar now works at California Smash, staying immersed in the game both on and off the court. His competitive mindset and athletic instincts make him a relentless presence for LA Heat.
